Just as an FYI, to anybody in the Greenville area (who also happen to have GCLS library cards), I’ll be giving a presentation on backyard chicken keeping at the Travelers Rest library branch at 10:30 am this Saturday. The program is only an hour long and will be pretty introductory to the whole chicken owning thing, providing some basics to starting a flock, as well as advice and ideas on how to troubleshoot some of the less enjoyable aspects of chicken owning (eg. broodiness, escaping chicken, gapeworm, etc.).
Anyways, I’m feeling excited about this, and I think it will be a fun, and hopefully informative, little program. So check it out if you can. And if you can’t (for like the vast number of reasons why somebody reading this might not be able to) please feel more than free to ask me questions about chickens, because I enjoy talking about them.
Update: Oh hey, meant to include this before, it’s a picture of my chickens, being buttheads and tearing up my garden beds (I still love them anyways, regardless of their buttholery).
